@abrahampenrose you seem to be a reasonable, mentally competent sort of fella. Why do you feel I am not a 15 year old girl who learned chess and comes to a chess website in pursuit of her newfound passions? @mutualblundersociety 1.h4 prevents black fromo castling kingside because he would get run over by the pawn and the newly useful rook on h1. If black wants to castle queenside, the extra tempo invested into fianchettoing his kingside bishop would make his plans, arrangement, making his king safe on the queenside dubious. That said, h4 prevents black from controlling the center / long dark quared diagonal by rendering fianchettoing of his kingside bishop impossible unless the black king doesnt need to be safe. h4 is possibly one of the best moves.
Well, it DEFINITELY isn't one of the best moves, but it isn't terrible either.
I think 1. g4 might be even better. It gives white free and utter control of the light squared diagonal and the center with his lightsquared bishop on g2. Worse yet, black cannot naturally develop his knight to f6 cuz g5! is too damn strong. I strongly suspect 1. g4 wins by force.

What mutual needs to do is to stop crusading and being the religious police. He also needs to learn to accept other's viewpoints instead of assuming he knows best. And he needs to rebut a fact with facts instead of making personal attacks like "hey you're a hypocrite" and "you you are a cheater" and "dont like at me, in just helping to point out the trolls, ima good guy". His act is wearing thin. He has no substance, no facts, and all about discrediting people for his own glory.
You said you're pretty sure I am not 15, a beginner or a girl. You said I should take it as a compliment, that I am too smart to be 15 or a beginner. Do you also feel I am too smart to be a girl?

No, I tried to bring things back to my argument comparing your argument against the French Exchange with a possible argument against the Slav. I even threw in an apology while I was at it but that wasn't enough for you. Then you insisted that I stop using the word "refuted" and then I even conceded that maybe I had implied you said the French exchange was refuted, and you continued insisting I not use the word. You tell people not to go off topic then you do. You tell people not to use sub-par openings, then you do. Nobody cares about your wins with 1. h4.
If you really don't care, why do you bring it up? Bit ironic, isn't it?
