Four night opening

The four night opening is one of the most anoying openings in the history of openings. I have been in that position to many times and i try and change the pisition but i can't stop it when i'm in it without throwing the game. If you would like to comment on how it annoys you or how much you love the pisition for some unknown reason please comment.

Yeah i know i hate that defence it is soo boring and annoying. Just play Ruy Lopez if you don't want tof ace it.

The Rubenstein variation.  White's best reply here is Ba4 but in many cases Black gains a strong attack with Bc5 and d5.  White, in my analysis, only seems to get a real advantage if he plays....the secret move!

You control your destiny. Just try queens pawn openings for a change.

I love it, I mostley make it to the double ruy lopez or the hallowen gambit, The rubisten annoys me to death as it is hard to counter.

If you want an attacking game after the Four Knights, play the Halloween Gambit.

what is the royal lapez??!!

It's Ruy Lopez, not royal lapezSmile, and the line is: 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bb5.  You can find in Game Explorer.

I find the Four Knights a lot harder to avoid as black, where, I suppose, there is the option of going for the Three Knights with 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Nc3 Bb4 (Bc5 there will probably just transpose back into a Four Knights within a move or two whereas this has some independent lines.) As white, I just rarely, raraely play 3. Nc3.

I used to play for the Scotch variation of the Four Knights, though I'm just less inclined for that these days.

This thread cracked me up.

Usually I do the Queen's pawn opening, and I use c4 before moving up the queenside knight.
