From a game here: delayed bongcloud wins a piece!

I won a game against an unorthodox opening. I was pretty pleased with how I played.

But I did not realize one thing: I missed a win of a piece on move 5! In my defense, it wasn't very easy.

I played 5. Bd2, which got me a nice positional advantage with development after ...Bxd2 Qxd2 and Nc3, Nf3, etc. I cashed in quickly against a lower rated opponent who blundered. It feels mean to share the actual game. But the chess.com engine pointed something interesting out:

5. Ke2! wins a piece. Ne7 allows a3 and the bishop hits a Noah's Ark trap. Nb6 allows c5 and a3 and b4, another Noah's Ark trap with the moves shuffled.

Maybe others have seen this, but it was an unusual sideline to an unusual opening and yet, at the same time, it's sensible enough to fall into. And it's always neat to see an unexpected improvement on automatic play. I thought this was particularly amusing.
