Giuoco piano, queenside pawns marching on, I'm helpless?

They try to gain space on the queenside. It isn't a big problem in general but it can be an advantage for White in the endgame, like in your game.
You can stop it by playing ...a5 if you want to.
Hey punter thanks for the great analysis. Feels much better now, because I knew I didn't play that bad. I made few mistakes as you pointed. I think I will choose a5 from now on to stop this. That bishop going back line is also good, but anyway to save the pawn. Also from your analysis I felt rooks are also great in outposts, normally when I think of outposts I think of knights and bishops. Anyways thanks a lot for that, I can feel you should be an awesome player after reading the analysis.
Hello everyone,
I defend giuoco piano with giuoco piano because this way I can learn about giuoco piano as well. This is one of my recent games, and I have seen now many many players who play giuoco piano are starting a queenside pawn storm, this has been throwing me off. What are they trying to achieve? Anyway in this game they succeeded and this led to their win. Can anyone analyse this game and tell me how I could have defended better. How could I have stopped this pawn march early, before end game. I'm upset not because I lost, but I don't think I could do any better after analysis, which is the worse feeling. Thanks a lot.
