Halloween Gambit?

I encountered this and after analyzing my game was very surprised to see (Book Move.)  What is this monstrosity, where did it come from and why isn't Nc6 played after d4 in the few master games in the DB on Chess.com?

5...Ng6 and 5...Nc6 both are played.

The reason 5...Nc6 is less played is 6.d5 Ne5 7.f4

Ohh, none of the 7 or 8 games have Nc6 on the Chess.com DB that's why I thought that.  Thanks, do you know where this gambit came from?
