How do you find out what openings are right for you?

Although I understand theres many more important things to study before the opening I would like to just settle on an opening "repertiore" that would suit my "style" so I don't have to think over what opening to play since they're so many out there.Honestly I don't know how to tell if an opening is suited for me or not, is it how comfortable you feel playing it? I'm not sure what the indicators are. Currently for some unknown reason I ended up mainly playing as black the french defence against e4 and against d4 I really just wing it. With white I've been playing italian game and king's gambit since I first started chess but recently started using the london system and king's indian attack. Openings outside e4 and d4 I also just wing it. How do you decide what openings you play most of the time?

You play openings that youre comfortable with.

I study and experiment with different opening. For example I played the KID and grunfeld and benoni against d4. the grunfeld just was more my style. So I bought a book on it.
