how to beat QG

hi all

i found a great way to have chances against the Queen Gambit which is the Chigorin defense 1-d4 d5 2- c4 Nc6

please try it , it is a lovely opening

There are better ways to handle the Queens Gambit than the Chigorin.  It might work against an unprepared opponent but otherwise seems to rule out most chances for Black.  I prefer the Slav (1. d4  d5 2. c4 c6) when not playing an Indian (1. d4 Nf6).

Hey .. why is Slav(1. d4 d5 2. c4 c6) better than Chigorin (1.d4 d5 2. c4 Nc6) i wud of thought that bringing out the horse is better cus u get 2  develop another major piece and the enemy isnt, there next move will be using their gambit porn .. this way gives blac te initiative !!!

The c pawn is essential to contest the center, blocking it in with the Knight generally leads to difficulties.
