You played pretty well! I do have two notes. The first is that you can spend a little more time on your moves. You started the game with 30 minutes and ended with 20. The second is always look for 1. Checks 2. Captures and 3. Attacks. You missed several chances to capture free pieces. Other than that you are a pretty solid chess player.

Thanks for your insight! I will definitely work on what you said about the time management. (By the way, when I could’ve captured his queen, I didn’t because I felt bad. I know I shouldn’t do that, but I wanted to give him a chance and make the game more exciting) Again, thank you! :)

No problem!

It would be helpful if you annotate your games.

Mazetoskylo

It's an OK game for that level.

At move eleven, after the blunder 10...Be4, you spent half a minute for 11.Rg1, while you could simply pocket a free piece after 11.Nxe4 Bxd2+ 12.Nxd2. Missing backwards moves of the pieces is actually quite common, even at somewhat higher levels.

Hey Aspiring GM. Hard to give definite advice. But my simple improvement point would be to practice tactics. You had several missed opportunities to win material. But for 500 rating this was a pretty good game. Keep it up!

RoelandPrujssers, are you really a gm?

TheSnipeKing

I would say this is a decent game for a 500, but I think you should have spent more time on your moves, and you should work on some more basic tactics.
