Black must guard the f7 square, a common target in quick attacks. Watch for the bishop and queen lining up on the f7 diagonal—that’s the setup for the four-move checkmate. In the example, Nc6 was too slow; g6 would have stopped the queen immediately. If White tries Qf3, Nf6 blocks it. Spotting these signs early is the best defense, and I always teach students this because it appears often in beginner games.
