How to Identify different variations of a Sicilian?

This is something that's bothered me for awhile... I can't identify a sicilian for my life... Whether it's a najdorf, dragon, pelikan, classical, Schevingen, Sveshnikov, Taimonov, Kan, Paulsen, Kalashkinov.... There's so many! >.< And i only read all the names off of wikipedia.

Besides learning how to identify each and every one, how is white supposed to counter them? Please help... Because I doubt playing the yugoslav/english attack is going to work as effectively as my rank increases if I can't identify them...

If you know what an open Sicilian is, you only have to be able to recognize about one move deep to know which Sicilian you're in.  It's not all that difficult.  Memorizing tons of theory against all of them is, and answering the question, "How do I play against them all?" is, but recognizing them isn't.
