How to play against 1.e4?
Scandinavian with Qd8 is easiest to learn reponse to e4.
black get solid caro-kann structure without need to study tons of theory.
3...Qd8 Scandinavian is not the only option, though I agree it is one of the precious few that can be learned quickly. Fort Knox variation of the Rubinstein French would work too, though you would have to learn French Advance as well. Petroff defence with some shortcuts (1.e4 45 2.Nf3 Nf6 3.Nxe5 d6 4.Nf3 Nxe4 5.d4 Be7 bypasses lots of theory) might be doable, but this would require a good tutor.

you didn't say what you normally play against e4? if its next week i wouldn't bother trying to learn something new
I do not like caro-kann because the way I play is often passive. I do not know how to play it in a more active way.
Normally I play sicilian dragon or the pirc most of the time.
do you like these defences ? it seems that you will have difficulty playing something you don't like.
yes I like them. Do you think that I have difficulty in playing for instance sicilian?..
if you play too passive, play some kind of gambit it will put you in the attacking frame of mind straight away in the opening
I will play in a local tournement next week and I am trying to build up a good opening repertoire. I like playing english with white and having fine results online but when I'm black I'm having some difficulty in the opening, and losing just at the opening makes you feel nervous, you know.I need a solid and easy to learn defense against 1.e4 to carry to battle up to middlegame and endgame. Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.
