3 nxe5 is what you have to watch out for when playing the Damiano defense if black recaptures he loses his kingside rook and the pawn
Otherwise yes it's playable there's a game where Fischer drew somebody who played the Damiano defense against him. Obviously he was smart enough not to recapture. At that point you're still down and a particularly important because one

Exactly, if you play perfect you could draw! I lost one out of 50+ games over the years
I disagree. After 1. e4 e5, 2. Nf3 f6 3. Nxe5 Black is objectively lost.

I must say this thread has taken an interesting turn, and the character of Jajakilroy has been exposed in his last two posts. Yes he changed his first post, but he displays the same lack of understanding in post #49 as he did in post #1. Anyone who truly understand what Jakakilroy says in post #49 will realize that post #1 was not made in jest originally.
