Please, tell me how to look up the GM certification for Stockfish, or Rybka, or Houdini.
" proof it now " ? LOL You dont even know what " hack " means either ?! If Tal beating Kasparov is so important to you then you should know that Fischer crushed Tal in 2 blitz games ! Maybe that means Fischer is twice as good as Tal ?
I also have a GM title. It's really amazing, you get to do things like move pieces through each other and advance pawns 3 squares instead of 2.

Reb, as you know that was just a blitz tournament. It was a fantastic result for Fischer, and a harbinger of things to come, but it was just a blitz tnmt.

The Herceg Novi Blitz Tournament of 1970 was the greatest speed tournament of the 20th century. Four world champions competed in the tournament and Bobby Fischer finished 4 ½ points ahead of the second place finisher, Mikhail Tal.
Fischer also dominated the Soviet players, 8 ½ - 1 ½, soundly defeating Tal, Tigran Petrosian and Vasily Smyslov, 6-0; breaking even with Viktor Korchnoi; and defeating David Bronstein with a win and draw. According to one report, Fischer spent no more than 2 ½ minutes on any game.
I know SF but this poser seems to place huge importance on a win Tal had against Kasparov in blitz so I went off along this branch ...

Reb, I think that report must be wrong. At least one of the Korchnoi games was reported to have gone down to the wire.
The Herceg Novi Blitz tournament has competition for the best blitz tnmt of the 20th Century. The St. John's blitz tournament of 1988 was pretty special too. But yeah, it certainly is one of the two best blitz tnmts of that century. This century, there have been several dozen that were at least as good. Sadly, when you have a couple incredible tournaments every year, they don't seem so special.

Ealrier, HH bragged about beating a GM. It turns out that game was a 10 0 unrated game played here where he coincidentally had a 100% T1 match-up rate with an engine.

Korchnoi split with Fischer , 1-1 , how is the report wrong ? Fischer's only loss was to Korchnoi .

Here's a link to the wikipedia list of grandmasters. You won't find any engine on that list. Many engines are stronger than the best human players in the world, but no engine has a GM title.

Reb, you said that Fischer didn't use more than 2.5 minutes on the clock in any game. I'll go back and read the Chess Life report on the tnmt some time, but I'm pretty sure that Fischer used most of his time in those games, at least.
