I would like 2 have help with my openings.

I am new 2 chess.

It might make it a little easier if you specify a particular area regarding openings.  Many members may not respond because they do not know how to help.  If you give us a clear avenue, you will get a few more members to drive by and give their advice.

Maybe if you post a game of yours, we can help you with the opening.

The first thing to understand is the principles of the opening.

I would like 2 thank you 4 taking the time 2 respond.

Hakim, if you are new to chess, try to follow these ideas:

1- move center pawns to open lines for your bishops and queen

2- fight for control of the center of the board

3- develop pieces, not just pawns

4- in general, try to develop knights first, then bishops, then queen and rooks

5- castle early to put your king in a position of safety in the corner

If you practice these ideas in some games it will help you learn. Then, study the opening explorer on the chess.com site and see how these ideas are applied in games.

The #1 thing you can do to learn is to play.
