Traps have been helpful with teaching myself to look ahead for possiblilities on the board. Both my opponents and mine. Studying traps helps my tactical thought. I know most are built on relying on my opponents mistakes and if the opponent doesn;t bite, they often do leave you vulnerable positionally.

A double edged sword for sure.Embarassed

My traps aren't working for me now . . . Im too old 82 . . .

I have this book that was reprinted in 1970 . It says on the cover the price was $2.95 .

Going to start studying these traps again . Wish I had the pgn's for this book .

i have to update this because I'm now 84 and my games are detiriorating miserable, so is my spelling . . .

I used to love traps maybe i should go back to them . . .

But many new openings are being used that aren't in the book . . .

There is another book that can be downloaded FREE "700 Traps" but i forgot the author . . .
