Sure why not?
is Alekhine Defense a good blitz tool to play as Black?

I use Scandinavian as a blitz tool, because it goes to the middle game fast, and with a fairly nice looking position I must add. However, in Alekhine Defense, things always get very complicated and it requires some homework to play such an opening.
I completely agree that Alekhine Defense would surprise me more than Scandi. Also, if you want to force white to an opening mistake, Alekhine is perfect. You just have to be more careful yourself.
If you don't want complications and still play Nf6 variations, you may always go for Pirc, d6 first then Nf6, which decreases complications but harder to play with black at Blitz I think.

I think it would be good if you know the right moves to make fast. In fact I think it is excellent, because you don't make yourself vulnerable to attack and in order for white to do anything good to keep you from establishing a good attacking position, they have to let their gaurd down somewhat...

Blitz isn't about openings, or even about chess. It's about the clock.
I disagree with that, with better openings the player will have better lead in development. I would prefer to play White in the following situation:
White has more pieces placed in good attacking squares, and this would probably help the white player win the game.
Blitz is a joke. You could play the greatest game of your life, have an absolutely won position, and lose due to the timer.
It's not chess. It's a circus show.

Although its frustrating having to move the same knight over and over again (1. e4 Nf6 2.e5 Nd5 3. c4 Nb6 4. c5 Nd5) I think its white player who usually don't know the alekhine.
I usually play Alekhine against higher rated opponents and Scandianavian against lower rated opponents. The part I love about those 2 openings, is that it is black who forces the opening not white.
Hi,
Today I've looked through my own chess.com's database and found out I have a 100% win record as black with Alekhine's defense (1. e4 Nf6). I am wondering if I should start playing this opening in blitz chess here. It is similar to Scandianavian opening (which also attacks 1. e4) yet I think it has more surprise element into it.
I will appriciate any feedback. Thanks.
