I've watched plenty of his videos on youtube. He just has a sarcastic sense of humor. Doesn't come across like a jerk to me at all.

The only reason its called game of century because some American columnist thought that it deserves that title. Only amateurs like you would think that this game is the greatest game, but in fact this was a onesided game , where fischer played clean and made no errors, not like it was a creative masterpiece . If you wanna see creative masterpieces watch tal or bronstein great games not this.

I have to say that Ben as 100% on the money in that video!
The sheer number of comments talking about his body or making an eating joke. Something I might expect on Reddit or Facebook, or from children.

This GM Finegold clip posted by notmtwain is absolute GOLD !! 
He almost seems like a character from a Seinfeld TV Series.....something like a George CanStandYa of chess world.
As an advancing beginner I get more out of other Masters posts, as 10% of my mental energy is spent listening to his verbiage. I wonder if Ben thinks he's helping his students by chatting and seeing if they are paying attention... Although... one could ask, whether the students are paying attention to his references or the game?
After watching his videos for a month straight, I started playing chess again and gained over 400 rating points. His humorous way of teaching kept me interested enough to learn a few things, and got me back into the game after a 10 year break. I am now studying and playing the game I love again, Thanks Ben!!
Almost all people say they don't like to be patronized but most of them get all offended when they aren't being patronized.

I have met many top players and not surprisingly, it matters to many of them how good you are at chess. They, at least in a chess setting, are often openly contemptuous of weak players. Of course, some have to operate in the non-chess world where 99% of the population does not know, for example, what a GM is and such GMs, like those with non-chess jobs, would seem much more normal.
