Is playing something like g7-g5-g4 ever a reasonable idea against the closed siclians?

So my opponent played this passive opening and I was like what the heck, lets go crazy and starting playing g7-g5-g4, h5-h4... and it worked! Which got me wondering, is this kind of idea actually used against certain systems, or is it all unsound?

It was played at least once but white took the pawn you threw at him.

Sure looks like white came out of the opening better
