Is The wayward queen attack any good if you can just play knight to avoid?

both carlsen and nakamura played it against GMs once, both ended in draws. It is playable, if you know what you are doing

#26 I've come to the conclusin that opening principles are total nonsense. If they actually meant anything, I wouldn't be losing 90% of my fricking games, whether I'm misled or not. I've always focused on them, yet I still get trapped and crushed within the first 15 moves, because it's impossible to know what of these supposed principles is more important in any given situation. Control the centre? Give up your bishop. Control key squares? Get kicked off them instantly. Castle early? Nope, you did it at the wrong time. I fricking give up.

Hmmmm, your results suck, and therefore it must be the opening principles.  That is about the dumbest logic I've heard in years.

What's next?

Your Chinese dinner tastes terrible, it must be the chop sticks?

It's raining on your wedding day, must have forgot to water the plants?

Your wife divorced you, it must be that your fly was down?

SMH!

indeed. It's weird, but I feel for the guy. 😶

Back in my day, we didn't have Internet, chess engines, social media etc only books & magazines, Chess clubs, OTB play, simple electronic chess boards etc. For me, being in the Islands of Hawaii All of My life, playing Chess in the early '80s to late '90s learning & playing Chess, joining clubs and playing in casual games, matches or tournaments were kind of hard ta come by!

The fact that many of these Gen Z complain, rant or go off on these forums make me sad. 😥

It seems this generation or abit earlier missed out on a lot of social Interaction, Live and in Real time play like I'd had. Post game, pre-game prep experience that's free n easy in Real Life (from friends, club members); not monetized now a days is what I'm saying.

Online Chess is normalized for guys like him, going on forums to try and learn is understandably overwhelming with said "experts" commenting. Or more accurately, players who have, at times, supposedly more "knowledge".

He is obviously a casual player. Not easily impressed with the chess jargon (I or "we") some normally use to express their points in a forum. On the other hand, why comment on something and not expect blowback? Of course, one always expects a reply but only if it's "graciously" received methinks heh 😬.
