Italian Game with Bxf2 counterattack

This is not the Traxler, as you may think, but I think it is a cool, fun way to handle the Italian Game Fried Liver from the Black side. I have played it twice with one win and one loss, and it is very fun...the moves are natural, and both players played Nxe5...
This isn't the Fried Liver. That is the name for 5...Nxd5 6.Nxf7.
Is 9...Bc5 book? My (flawed) database has 277 games with 9...e4, and just 1 with 9...Bc5 -- won by White after 10.0-0 0-0 11.Nxe5. But it's probably a fine way to get white out of book and into blunder territory, at least in blitz :-)

Nah. BirdBrain has gone crazy for some reason. 9...e4 (as you say in your post) is the correct continuation. In the chess.com database, there are 1,145 games with 9...e4, and only 5 games with 9...Bc5. You do the math.

Of course, that doesn't mean the opening isn't book -- to be "book", there just has to be some opening book that mentions it.

Admittedly so. However, I think more than being 'mentioned' it has to be pointed out as an actual line. (For example, in a Bird opening book for absolute beginners 2. g4?? might be mentioned, but that doesn't mean that walking into fools mate is a book move.)

What does that mean exactly, "pointed out as an actual line"? 2.g4 is an actual line...
Perhaps you mean, mentioned in the book and not called a bad move in the book :-)

Okay, to clarify the word "book", since there is some confusion...and I apologize for any confusion my wording caused...
9...Bc5 has been played, and you can find it on the chess.com Opening Explorer. But 10. Nxe5 is not in the server.
9...e4 may be better, and I am sorry if I didn't see it first. I simply am still learning these lines, and the first time I played this line, after ....h6 Nf3, I immediately jolted out Bc5, and after Nxe5 I began to look and see the possibilities of Bxf2. It totally shocked my opponent, and I won. Of course, it was blitz. I am not by any means advocating using this move for your next big game. I am saying, in a blitz game, if you decide to play ...Bc5 instead of ...e4, and you see them take the e5 pawn, you can play Bxf2 Kxf2 Qd4+ with a fun position.
Maybe I need to be more precise about the work "book". I will next time reference where I find my "research", or I'll write the moves on a piece of paper and say I found it in BirdBrain's chess manual! :-)
