that's right, he did didn't he. I suspect Ponz might be using Fischer's refutation to the KG he published after losing this game:

For anyone who starts with "Shut up!" and then rambles on with his own nonsense--this is not a thread for you.
When someone rambles on about chess engines are stronger than the best human--we all know this. Again this is not the thread for you.
When someone says I am arrogant because I want to play the best players possible--there is a reason for this. If I play average players or above average players and win-then it does not prove or indicate anything I will hear: "Ponz won but he did not play good players"
So I set up a minimum criteria for this match. When I did this before I was able to play several games against national masters who had very strong machines. Unfortunately I am not getting players who are strong enough and want to play the Kings Gambit against a septuagenarian.
except for two players who have volunteered and kudos for them!
We now have our 3rd player who is willing to take up the challenge and play the White side of the Kings Gambit against me. He is RRM888 When we start it will be an unrated game with chess engines to help.
Thanks RRM888!
Now we have our 4th player out of the 6 needed. He is Moses2792796 and he has a very strong chess engine.
Thanks Moses!
David, It is obvious beyond any doubt what your motives are. There are just those individuals who are just contrawise as their nature. Unfortunately, brilliance rarely accompanies this trait. I suspect there are a lot of talented players who would love to join your exercise but likely won't stumble across this forum.
I'm sure you are aware of the Advanced Chess (read centaur) group here at Chess.com: http://www.chess.com/groups/view/advanced-chess
I'm certain that with 8 pages of members you can find 6 high level players to join the soiree. I found 4 on the first page 2200 or above.
Moses, you are correct and I think that is what dark and stormy had in mind also.
Maybe what happened in my exhibition a few months ago puts off the very strongest players?
By the way if any of the 4 "chosen" want to try 2 lines against me rather than just one--let me know...
The games will start 1. e4 e5 2. f4 and I will tell you in advance I will play 2. ... exf4
maybe I can play... Is rybka 4 deep/houdini 1.5/komodo 5.1 enough?
OH WOW!! Yes, yes, you can play. I would be delighted! Just confirm with me by message you wish to play and understand the rules.
BTW against e5 i like playing scotch...I don't have much exerience. Normally I do not respond to messages, but it is possible to notify me by posting a note on my page. I was afraid you had blocked me for acting sort of rashly on one of your other threads. Oh, well, I guess it'll be fun!

You should try it sometime!
Sorry ponz... my official centaur rating is currently 2397 (LSS), but I have absolutely no motivation to support the white side of a king's gambit. I don't doubt very much that I will somehow find some sort of equality, but generally speaking I prefer playing for something more than that as white...
I'd play you too if there's still a spot.
My rating is 1943 FIDE and Houdini 4.0 + latest Stockfish.
LuftWaffles thank you! You are in as the 6th player! This will start soon. I just decided to order a book on the Kings Gambit as I have nothing.
Please, if any of you six want to try two games I am "game".
You all should challenge me to an unrated game with you having White.
Just make your first move [1. e4] and we can get started now. 3 days per move. Before we get started any questions or discussion?
I discourage taking vacation or time out.
Will probably publish the games every once in a while while they are ungoing. If so, please do not publically comment on them.
This is for fun but of course we want to win or draw!
Using computers for chess is unethical. It is considered cheating as well.
You do not know what you are talking about. If it is agreed beforehand it is not cheating and it is not unethical. My guess is you are a troll.

I'm thinking of taking up the King's Gambit again to try applying what I've learnt in Crouch's "How to Defend in Chess". I've just reached the 100 move game between Lasker and Capablanca part, which I'll study tomorrow and the day after.
Defending inferior positions is a skill every player needs but no one wants to need (since we prefer being better obviously) so the King's Gambit has instructive value after all
If it is agreed to beforehand it may not be cheating but it still is unethical. The same way human experimentation, even with informed consent of the patient, is unethical.
There are simply some boundaries that should not be crossed.
At the start of this thread I asked not to post attacks on centaur chess.
Take it to another thread.
boris spassky beat bobby fischer kings gambet opening !
You are correct but neither Spassky or Fischer had the chess knowledge we have today.
