For those unfamiliar with the term kitty corner see: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=kitty%20corner -- it essentially means diaganolly across. So as opposed to the Hnerf entailing White's pushing forward of the h-pawn on the first two moves, the Kitty Corner Hnerf Defense entails Black's pushing forward his a-pawn on the first two moves.
I just faced this and my opponent mysteriously resigned after his fifth move (http://www.chess.com/echess/game?id=119973736), or maybe not so mysteriously as he threw away his best chance at counterplay for his a-pawn which I was about to capture.
