Sorry I cannot give you a specific tip (due to not knowing any). However, there is a sub-forum about books and accessories, there are many good recommendations there. Maybe you find something suitable there?
Looking for a good book about openings

Fundamental Chess Openings by Paul van der Sterren is an excellent overview of the important ideas in all the opening; a really valuable reference.
I second the motion.

I took a quick look on all volumes contents and couldn´t find the Petroff Defense in the John watson series. I guess it should have been included in the volume 1 but I guess is was not..
I will take a look at the Chess Openings by Paul van der Sterren though

I also endorse Van Der Sterren.
I also like "The Ideas & Plans Behind All Chess Openings", by Stefan Djuric...a 5 book series that gives a good base to build on.

I also recommend Van De Sterren, John Watson, and Stefan Djuric. The Djuric series is 4 volumes, not 5. I have used all three authors in my opening research.

It's covered in volume 4 under the chapter on symmetrical openings.
More relieved now... Tks

Understanding the Chess Openings by Sam Collins is easy to read and a pleasant place to start. I also have FCO and I generally read about an opening first in Collins. Admittedly in its 224 pages Collins book does not have as much as FCO. But Collins sometimes explains something that FCO is unclear on. In the semi-Slav FCO goes into detail about the anti-Meran Gambit, but says nothing ( that I can find ) about the anti-Meran Variation. Collins explains the latter. I agree that the Djuric series is fabulous, but it has more than I need or will recall at my level. Perhaps some day I'll get one of his volumes. Collins is a fun read; the others are for hard studying.
One that can provide a good overview of the openings and its ideas. 2 tome book can be considered.
Any sugestions?
tks in advance
