engines suck at openings, i trust him more than lc0

lc0 is not the conventional engine though.

it took the scores from all its games, and saw which one gave it the best chance of winning. It has the highest win rate in the Berlin than anything else.

still, engines suck at chess. it doesnt matter hich one. Humans use more intuition.

2Kf21-0

And when an engine says that "white is better here" or something, thats not very accurate. Because for a human, that advantage may not matter. I suggest you read more, such as @2Ke21-0 blog about engines.

And your intuition can be wrong. Personally, I feel as though the Berlin is the opposite of a draw. It is what Krammnik used to deprive Kasparov of his title.

In openings, exact calculation means almost NOTHING.

2Kf21-0

In openings, I think intuition and taste matters much more.

thats actually true, not saying you should trust me. but engines rate my openings bad and they arent bad

2Kf21-0

exactly. if you are talking about this berlin defense:

I highly disagree with you.

But in the resulting positions you get from those opening calculation does matter. lc0 won more in positions from the Berlin than anything else. I am not saying it spits out theory in the Berlin, but lc0 favors the positions that arise from the Berlin.

well thats lC0 isnt it? if you were an engine, you would win as well

no.

This is what I mean

first think I would think is that white has a slight advantage.

White has a slight advantage in every opening, but that advantage is not good enough to convert into anything, or else top gms would always win with white

Well, then, where in the world did you find that black has any sort of advantage?

2Kf21-0

I think an opening is totally about taste.

2Kf21-0

But also, on your comment about white always being better, that is not necessarily true. It's just that white gets a long term advantage in the ruy lopez.

White gets the first move. That is an advantage, but not enough to do anything with it.

Yes true, but there are exceptions. In the Ruy lopez, white doesn't just get an advantage because he/her moves first. Same with queens gambit. That is why many GMs adore them.

Search it up. You will find many resources.

you should be able to explain your argument. I should not have to look it up, bc your argument should be good enough that I understand it just by reading what you have to say.

I cannot explain to you in 1 post what is a lifetime worth of studying.

Yeah I agree black has chances to fight for the win but there are lines where white prevents black from castling long and without castling long white can just copy u to make a draw
