Where is Petrov's defense?

Petrov Defense / Russian Game is an opening in 4 plies (2 moves). It's a variation of the KPG (1. e4 e5) with the same pawn structure 2Ee. settings.pngwink.png

I started to add Benko Variations. peshka.png

Ilampozhil25

i was confused at first since i thought you were referring to the benko gambit.

also 1.e4 e5 is called "the 1...e5 variation of the kings pawn opening" by the explorer so technically the name you gave is unofficial and open game is better

same with 1.d4 d5

Oh well, KP stands for the King's Pawn so "Benko: KP" or "Hungarian: KP" is quite clear and self-explanatory imho. 😎

Ilampozhil25

buuut its unofficial

so 1.e4 e5 should have a *

Ilampozhil25

hungarian:kp is unofficial riight

Ilampozhil25

c4 d5 isnt thaat sound(feel free to correct me i guess)

also, what is being used for the "soundness" thing

Well, it's often called "King's Pawn Game" (KPG), for example, at lichess explorer. It looks sufficiently official to me. 😎
