FIRST OF ALL NIMZO HAS WAY BETTER STATS SECOND NIMZO IS EVAULATED AT 0.2 KID IS 0.9 THIRD MANY CASES A E FIVE PAWN IS BLOCKING THE BISHOP SO I DONT KNOW WHY ANYONE PLAYS KID

I agree that the Nimzo Indian is probably the best defense against 1.d4, but it's not what I play.

Fat women are better than skinny women. They cook better and usually take better care of you. Yet so many of us prefer these physically fit women that are busy, conceited, and do nothing for us.

So in the end, does it matter what is good for us or what we want?

Just as some rich man has a trophy wife, some chess player rich with calculating abilities is playing the King's Indian Defense.

If you really want to see KID's potential, Fischer's earlier games would be an excellent source.

People play the KID because it produces aggressive and attacking positions. Not every player is meant to play every opening. I rather get bored by playing the Nimzo but I feel invigorated when I play the KID.

Probably just because you are better player. I myself don't like the KID as black, but I've been destroyed facing it several times. So?

I tried to play the Nimzo, but got crushed when my opponents played d5 on the second move. (I'm a novice.) Stats only apply when your opponent plays the line.

If your opponent played 2.d5, then that wasn't the Nimzo.

"theres a kid who always play the kid in tournaments and i destroy him" The operative word being kid, as in child. What's his rating? Beating a kid that uses the Kings Indian hardly refutes the opening.

3.Nf3.

Now let's see your Nimzo.  KID still looming.
