opening help
You should get "Fundamental Chess Openings", by Van der Sterren. It has superb explanation of all the openings there are, from the first move onwards. It can be your only opening book for years.
thanks for the replies. i realize that im kind of new but i typically never play e5. i either respond with a french or a sicilian. i dont like playing alot of the e4-e5 positions. Cause i feel like black gets bullied through alot of them. and i was just looking for something to play for a change of pace. i have a few opening books but they're all too broad. they show the first 10 or so moves. and a few variations but dont explain any of the ideas behind them. and thats all i was looking for. just some ideas on how to approach a game after the first few mainline moves.
and if you feel i should wait then i probably should, i will take your advice over my own ego. but what things could i do to improve my tactics?
