I play Scotch game with Whites and Scandi against 1. e4 and Englund against 1. d4 and so far I am having results in my favour with both white and black pieces in both Blitz and Rapid, Now, I want to explore different openings, somebody plzz suggest openings which lead to open games and good for above 1000 elo.. Thanks

reti , kings indian and italian are most used by improving players between 1000 to 2000 elo

then after 1800 most of them also include french

Toldsted

Stay with Scotch and Scandi, but get an alternative to Englund. That will be a lot of work, but worthwhile.

Nitram-Reims

Vienna is a great tactical opening leading to open positions and if you learn the theory well (it shouldn't be that complicated for 1000), you will win most of your games. I regularly get 98/100% accuracy with Vienna because people don't know the theory. Trompowsky is also good and not that complicated but both openings only work after certain first moves by your opponent. After a month of study, you should be pretty comfortable with these openings. For black, maybe the dutch might be surprising for your opponents but I play caro and modern which are positional and can be closed so I cannot really give you an advice here.

The Scotch is insufficient. That only accounts for those that play 1...e5 and 2...Nc6. What do you do about the:

Petroff?

Philidor?

Sicilian?

French?

Caro-Kann?

Inferior Defenses like the Pirc, Scandinavian, Alekhine, Modern, etc?

Which kind of answer are you looking for?

If your main goal is improvement, I think you should spend most of your time solving timed tactics (chesstempo is a great website for this, because they punish you for taking too much time on tactics). Especially because you are an amateur (for lack of a better word).

If your main goal is enjoyment, I guess just find and play whatever interests you. I personally enjoy the white side of 1 e4 e5 2 Bc4 Nf6 3 d3 Bc5 4 Nc3 d6 5 f4. It can open or close depending on the opponent's play. If 5...Ng4 then 6 f5 Nf2 7 Qh5 g6 8 Qh6 Nxh1 9 Bg5 is winning for white. But you need to know your stuff. This opening demands concrete knowledge because white's king is exposed and white's dark squares are a bit weak.

Alternatively, you may consider the Vienna, as Nitram-Reims suggests. So, 1 e4 e5 2 Nc3 Nf6 3 f4, although I find 3...d5 hard to play against.

So what do you play as white when they don't play 1...e5? Is it more gambit lines and open games or do you play closed games as well?

GMegasDoux

If you want some variation to the Englund and continue with open games try the Benko Gambit. I don't play it myself. But it seems interesting for your style of play. I play the Dutch which is usually a lot of closed games, but is fun and asymetrical. If you are worried about Staunton gambit just start with semi-slav and play f5 beging the game with a stonewall. You could play a stonewall attack as white as well.
