openings for novices

Hello all. I've been playing chess for maybe 4 or 5 years (but sadly am hovering around 900 still, so squarely a beginner lol). I don't do too bad in tactics and midgame and ok at endgame, but openings I am disproportionately weak and often fall for 'traps' when the board is full. I learn much better with an app than a book-- can anyone suggest a way to learn/practice these?

"am hovering around 900"
++ Then do not worry about openings. Worry about blunder checking before you move.

"openings I am disproportionately weak"
++ You do not win or lose because of the opening, but because of tactical errors.

"often fall for 'traps' when the board is full" ++ Think to avoid falling into traps.
