Best for an amateur is subjective. If there's an opening you badly want to play just play it because your motivation will be high to study it.

From an objective point of view i think that the QGD is very good because you can enforce it almost vs 1. c4. You also have the possibility to learn the Carlsbad, IQP/hanging pawn structures a lot. Imo thats a huge advantage because you can almost enforce a Carlsbad or slav exchange structure  in many Queen's pawn openings like the london or jobava london

The englund gambit is extremely p*werful because y*u can prem*ve 1. e5 against ANYTHING. I have played the englund extensively *ver the b*ard. D*n't diss the *pening unless y*u can walk the walk t** and beat me when I play it.
