Petrov defence

Another one it often transpose to is the Exchange French.
Same position arises after
1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 3.exd5 exd5 4.Nf3 Nf6
AND
1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nf6 3.Nxe5 d6 4.Nf3 Nxe4 5.d3 (instead of 5.d4 or 5.Nc3) 5...Nf6 6.d4 d5 (All other Black 6th moves are weaker.)
In fact, at the 2014 US Open in Orlando, all 5 of my games as Black started 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nf6. NONE wound up a Petroff!
Round 1 - Exchange French vs 1300 - Win
Round 3 - Four Knights vs 1700 - Win
Round 5 - Exchange French vs 2150 - Win
Round 7 - Four Knights vs 2250 - Win
Round 9 - Four Knights vs 2300 - Draw
That is to go with a loss to a 2100 in Round 2, a win in Round 4 against I think an 1850, and draws rounds 6 and 8 against 2300 players, all 4 of those I had White and played 1.b4.
Scored 6.5/9 and finished in a 2 way tie for 1st in class A (was 1993 at the time). That event is where I have won the most money ever in a single event - just short of $1500.
I have a question about the Petrov defense, please. Can it transpose to another opening? Thank you.
