peerts
I've heard peertz & perk but I personally believe peertz is right even though I don't pronounce it like that. I call it the perk.
Have to love wikipedia
No doubt. I am there almost every day.
It has to be my second favorite site after................
Youtube!.
HA! Bet you thought I was going to say Chess.com.
SOrry, Chess.com, but you are 4th on my list.
But, you are new on the list. There is room for advancement if you work hard and show your dedication to me. You can start by making me supreme MOD and let me use the troll smackin' stick once in a while.

Youtube is my favorite too. Not only all the entertainment stuff but you can learn how to do about anything from framing a house to chess instruction to computer repair & accounting. There's a how to video on it.
My favorite stuff on there are Neds prank calls. The funniest sh*t I've ever heard.
Was just watching the Backyard Professor on Youtube. He was doing a series on te Perk Defense. But now he's calling it the Pierce Defense.
I've always called it Perk.
I dunno.
I understand "pierce" or something similiar . But like the Bg2/Bg7 development discussion recently, custom has established the corrupted English pronunciation as the standard and I think to try and change that is an unncessary affectation. So "Perk" it is..
Another interesting one is the Colle which we learn now is not pronounced as in the sheepdog - BUT never the less I will still call it the "Collie" rather than "Col" because that's what we know it as !
It is named after the Slovenian International Grandmaster Vasja Pirc.
"You're looking very perky today, Vasja!".

He looks... "Funky" as best as I can describe it.
A white man sporting an afro is always a joy to behold.
Is it pronounced "perk?"
Or "pierce?"
