They were proper pushups as I saw the video.

Also he is a runner and does well for his age. he can beat me in everything except for chess and bowling perfect 300 bowling games.

My record is like 194 or 196 don't remember.

Have more perfect 300 bowling games than you willCool probably guess.

In real bowling or a video game?

So have I seen you bowling on TV?

like the marshall gambit in the Ruy lopez but black does not have to sac a pawn to get his good position if he plays 3...d5 against the ponizai....

Avatar of ponz111

Expertise87 it is a video game so easier than  real bowling but still not so  easy to bowl 12 strikes in a row.

Ajian how do you know that Black can get a good position against the Ponziani if he plays 3. ... d5?  Do you know the follow ups? have you studied the follow ups to 3. ... d5   ?

So you meant perfect score in a video game... lol, I meant real life.

Those push-ups you meant were from some other video game? Wii Sports? :P

Yea but this score is from a video game.

The 71 push ups my brother did at age 69 were real pushups in real life and they were recorded on a video camera.

The 300 game on my avatar is mine from a video game .  Even in a video game it is not so easy to bowl a 300 game.  I bowled more that 350 perfect 300 games of bowling on a video game.

Many chess players have other talents [other than chess]  duplicate bridge, poker, backgammon are some of them.

Avatar of Dark_N_Stormy_Knight

I've known many good chess players that also played duplicate bridge very well.  I'm not one of them.

The above was  a very nice presentation of that historic Ponziani game!

71 pushups isnt all that much. I know people who have done programs that get you to 100 pushups in a few weeks. 69 is old, but if he goes to the gym and eats well then its not an unreasonable number.

Stigmatisert, to answer your question--  We "cope" without being able to play Nc3 in the early opening the same way players of the Ruy Lopez "cope" without being able to play Nc3 in the early opening.

I have been playing the Ponziani for about 6 months.  I became interested in the opening after viewing several Youtube videos and Ponz's minitures.

I have studied the opening with pretty strong players (even beat a master in a skittles game) and am a pretty decent player.  Ponz111 is definitely the expert here.

For me:

3.c3 creates play in the center with a pawn (cheaper than a piece)

The opening is solid.  Like any opening, it does not force a win. If your opponent is booked up he will be okay.

Whites chances often extend deep into the middle game.  You will need to be a sharp tactical player in some lines, and a good positional player in others.

This opening is a good choice for a developing player.

The book "Play the Ponziani" is an excellent reference.
