The subject pretty much covers it.

Accepting queens gambit can get tricky for black and can lead to doom if you are inexperienced. Queens gambit declined is the more common route and is safer for black.

It depends on ur style,

QGA, after 1.d4 d5 2.c4 dxc4 3.e4 (or e3) e5 (or c5) tends to be more open, and therefore, has more tactical opportunities.

There are several variations of QGD (Tarrasch, Chigorin, Orthodox). The Orthodox defence is the quietest of the three.

declining is the best and easiest way

I think as long as you don't try to hang onto the pawn with moves like b5, QGA is perfectly playable, and I believe it is at one time or another played by some very strong GMs.

In blitz at least 60% choose to accept the gambit. And I appreciate that!

Sorry, I'm kind of new at it and I forgot to add Queens Gambit Accepted or Declined....

Avatar of deepOzzzie

decline it. Go into a slav variation... It is considered to be the soundest and most solid line when facing the QG. It is like the sicilian is to 1.e4 but to 1.d4. Well reputation wise it is. :D

declined!

can understand why people accept QG in blitz as declining it can take time and in blitz time is of the essence and there are lots of tactics to QGD

Decline the gambit and head for a slav or semi-slav.

Because my favorite opening is the King's Indian Defense, this always happens to me. Of course, my dad never castles kingside before so, so he always gets in check for it. I find the best defense from the Queen's Gambit is using two moves to switch your king an your queen. Of course, it's not a very good idea. The best way to deal with it is to deal with it.

I like both :)

I like to accept.

Defend the Queen's Gambit. If Black accepts the pawn, then White moves a pawn up and controls the centre, and that extra pawn you had is basically gone.

defitently declined because then yoiu lose the center

Avatar of FlaRe_

accept so u can get crushed nice and fast Tongue out otherwise go play decline or indian setups

Avatar of timeless_thoughts

I prefer the Queens Gambit Accepted when playing as the black pieces. I use to play the Slav defense agianst the Queens Gambit but I didn't really care for it.Its kinda got a closed nature to it. I'm sure you can open it up but I don't know a good way to do it. So I like the Queens Gambit Accepted so my bishops can do some work :).

I am a beginner and Want to play the queen's gambit.
I cant understand why do people accept while playing black If white will control the center and if they accept it will they gain any advantage ?
Many people win in playing QGA How ???
