Both sides have played 4 moves and it's supposed to be white's turn. Am I missing something here?
Question on Grunfeld Defense

Because it loses a pawn to 6. dxc5. In other Grunfeld positions like the exchange Grunfeld, dxc5 is not possible because the d pawn is pinned and thus Black plays Bxc3+:
but in the position you've shown that isn't the case and dxc5 would win a pawn.
However... there is a very similar line where Black sacrifices the c5 pawn so that the Black Queen can quickly get out to a5 and pressure the c3 Knight:
What makes this line work is that White has played Bf4 and e3 and thus can't just play Bd2 and easily deal with the pin. This line has threats of the f6 Knight coming in to pressure c3 along with the g7 Bishop.
Hi
I have a question on move order in Grunfeld defense. In this position, almost exclusively blacks plays O-O.. why not c5? I thought better to strike in center, followed by c6. Even i all database like 365chess.com, you will see 0-0..Can anyone explain why c5 is not a preferred move here? Thanks
