Ruy Lopez, Berlin defence, blunder?

Sort:

I just learned some chess opennings, and I see some blunders, such as:
 I think "5...Nc5" is a bad move.
next must be:
6. Bxc6 dxc6
7. Nxe5 (=> 1 pawn avantage for white)
TwoMove

Qd4

I'm assuming you mean 4...Bc5 is a bad move. Bxc6 dxc6 Nxe5 Is a blunder. Qd4 attacks the knight and threatens mate on f2.

grin.png that's right, Qd4 is the best.

I just played it with computer. I moved Knight to f3 then I losed.

other, #1, ("1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc63. Bb5 Nf6 4. d3 Bc55. O-O d6 6. Re1 O-O7. Bxc6 bxc6"), 2pawns in a column, is it bad?

By the way in general, 4. 0-0 is preferred for white rather than 4. d3. (if Nxe4 then d4, and if this pawn is taken, black tends to be in hot water after Re1, so in general white ends up taking on e5 and winning his pawn back).

@mariosuperlative :

what u say was true some years ago, but nowadays, when white wants to make something against Berlin, they rather play d3...

Because the Berlin endgame is a tough nut to crack...

Yeah I always play d3 against berlin. I refuse to go into that stupid endgame.
