Hello there all you chess fanatics, welcome to this weeks edition of CHESS CHAT! Just kidding folks. This weeks topic is on two famous chess openings. The sicilian defence and my favorite, the ruy lopez.

There has been a lot of discussions on these two openings and the chances of winning with them. I want to hear it from you though my fellow chess players. Which do you think would stand better being used in a game of chess. The Ruy Lopez or the Sicilian Defense. Which would win a game, which is stronger?

I assume you mean from the black side.

It's a hard choice, since I have such a good record with both the Sicilain Sveshnikov and Spanish Berlin OTB.

I think the sicilian mainlines give greater chances to win, but I think the spanish mainlines are stronger in that they are so solid.

Now that is a comment that I respect. Thank you Assault. I meant white for the spanish berlin and black for the sicilian. I have used the sicilian only a few times but I love using it when I want to have a solid strategy. Thank you for that video tmkroll.
