Ryder Gambit Queen Trap

I discovered this opening trap yesterday, and wondered if it has a name or a background or whatnot.

1. d4 d5, 2. e4 dxe4 (Blackmar-Diemer Gambit Accepted), 3. Nc3 Nf6, 4. f3 exf3 (Ryder Gambit Accepted), 5. Qxf3 Bg4, 6. Qxb7 Nbd7 (only move that doesn't lose a piece), 7. Nb5 Rb8 (kicking queen; skewering knight) 8. Nxc7+ Qxc7 (only legal move), 9. Qxc7 ... .

  • 5. Qxf3?! is bad cuz of 5...Qxd4 (Explorer's stats are misleading)
  • 5...Bg4? is a mistake

- Qxd4 invites yet another (the Halosaur) trap.

- 5. ... Bg4? and 7. ... Rb8?? are both bad, but may look attractive at first glance.  All traps require mistakes.

Bear in mind I'm still playing blitz in the 1000-1200 range, where this exact line is surprisingly common.

All right. It's indeed good as a surprise weapon in blitz. blitz.png Here's the correct black's defense on 5. Qxf3:

If it doesn't have a name might I propose "the dastardly donkey"
