that's great!
Scandinavian defense
Black can get some fine compensation if White holds on to the pawn with 3.c4. However, the best line (I think) for White in this line is 3. d4, offering the pawn back, and then gaining a tempo on the knight if Black plays 3...Nxd5 with 4.e4, in which White has a decent looking pawn center.

I don't play Scandi but I'm in a thematic tourney at the moment and I've been getting into awkward positions with black after 3.Bb5+ Bd7 4.Bc4 I've been trying b5 here which I guess is dubious.

With perfect game White wins. I liked FM Santaggati video on it...He conviced me. From the other point of view, if worth something is the Portuguese Smerdon variation with 3...Bg4 but requires a lot of devotion to understand when and how...ah! and a 2500 rated technique. Good luck !!

I agree with John Shaw, who finds the 2...Nf6 line strategically dubious because of free centre space without losing time.

3. Bb5+ Bd7 4. Be2 is a pleasant slight edge for white, and I don't see the appeal for black.
3. Bb5+ Bd7 4. Bc4 is an interesting tactical/aggressive solution for white and if white has prepared (which admittedly is unlikely) then you may find life difficult.
And 3. d4 is theoretically considered better for white, although of course the Icelandic is complicated (perhaps refuted, but people won't know that).
Still, I don't understand the appeal that much.

This is a review of Smerdon's Scandinavian that illustrates it's appeal perfectly.
[The SCANDINAVIAN streaks past in a cloud of dust]
SCANDINAVIAN: Bip bip!
COYOTE: I'll get him. I've got it all planned out. Look, here's my Acme pawn-grabber. I'm going to grab a pawn, then I'm going to grab another pawn, then I'll--
[The SCANDINAVIAN streaks past again]
SCANDINAVIAN: Bip bip!
[The dust clears. The COYOTE is lying under a huge pile of black pieces]
COYOTE: Right, that didn't work. But I've got another plan. Here's my Acme gambit-defuser. I'll just take one pawn, then I'll consolidate, then I'll--

SCANDINAVIAN: Bip bip!
[The dust clears. The COYOTE is again lying under a huge pile of black pieces]
COYOTE: Darn! But okay! Third time lucky! Here's my Acme space-taker. I'll build a nice solid center, no fancy stuff, develop naturally and then--

SCANDINAVIAN: Bip bip!
[When the dust clears, the COYOTE is once again lying under a huge pile of black pieces]

scandinavian is lowkey refuted, at least the qa5 is
Well, I just heard you aren't qualified to have opinions on chess except your in the 99 percentile, but I still think it's a great defense because most people aren't familiar with the positions

I was one of the first to play this opening as Black and wrote a book on this defense and had very strong results.
Sorry but this opening is sub par if White knows what he is doing.
