I play all 4
Scholia: Reversed, Opposite and Centrosymmetric Variations

Unfortunately the Dutch and Bird have no relation at all to the Sicilian and King's English, in a strategic sense, because the asymmetric positioning of the King and Queen changes the entire focus of the openings.
Lumping all four of those openings together because of a visual or cosmetic similarity is stamp collecting, not chess.

@blueemu you are absolutely correct the dutch and bird are COMPLETELY different than the Sicilian and English trust me I play all four

ok
normal and centrosymmetric scandi
reversed and opposite scandi
scandinavian has only 2 variants
interesting
also
normal and reversed open game
opposite and centrosymmetric open game
open game also has only 2 variants
but in a different way
what about normal and opposite vs reversed and centrosymmetric? is it possible that normal and opposite are the same and reversed and centrosymmetric being same for some opening? if so, give an example.
interesting questions arise.
then again, the scandinavian and englund are completely different and same with open and closed game.
whatever.

A simple example of fully symmetric pawn structure :
Wow, it has an official name: Beyer Gambit.

this means not fully symmetric but with 2 groups
normal and opposite being the same and reversed and centrosymmetric are same to each other but different to the other group
nvm i think this is impossible

Yes, 2 types of symmetries will imply the third too.

Nonetheless, it makes sense at the level of pawn structures. 😎
It's given by symmetries of the chessboard.
I give an example, starting with Sicilian Defense
:
King's English = Reversed Sicilian:
Dutch Defense = Opposite Sicilian:
Dutch Bird = Centrosymmetric Sicilian:
It's quite useful for naming and other taxonomic issues, concerning pawn structures.
