@Uhohspaghettio1 I referenced a quote by a player much stronger than anyone on this thread and you disputed it with no evidence or thought of any kind.  If you have some sort of analysis than go ahead and share it, the floor is yours.  More likely though, well get more of your mindless dribble as you feel backed into a corner after opening your mouth with nothing worth while to say.

he already gave his evidence bruh, "the resurgence in the Italian Game by Carlsen, Kramnik, and others."

Hence my other comment that the Italian never went anywhere.  Fischer used it, Kasparov used it, it never went away.

I mean it's just so annoying that he either thinks he's right or he is pretending to think he's right. The idea that after what we just went through that he would keep trying to argue.

It's like some people think that all they have to do is try to say something in a different way and tell people how the conversation went down and then they can actually be right again.

Are you, at any point, going to come up with any analysis or original thought?  You seem very confident that you are correct so please please please show us something (really anything at this point). It should be easy for you... right?

Personally I think non professionals can get away with anything reasonable as white. When it comes to the highest level of chess though, it is safe to assume that Kasparov knows a thing or 2 about a thing or 2.

My point about the candidates was that even though many players play the Italian (and not just to get around the Berlin), when it came to a tournament that was THAT important, the Ruy Lopez was used far more than the Italian.  I don't think that the Italian is bad at all, but I also don't think I know as much about the game as GK.

scotch is pretty underrated

Kasparov indeed used to play it, think even in match against Short several times.

scotch if too much straightforward, even a small advantages which white may get out from this opening cannot compensate the facts;  it leaves you no choice to deviate much and in this way for black is easy to prepare.  It reminds me on Berlin var, even worse.

I used to play it few times against low rated opponents, but I was not satisfied at all, Ruy Lopez provides much more choices and plans.

My best advice is that you can watch the super lessons from the gallery of Chess.com by GM Alex Delchev. You 'll learn many secrets and tricks, also you 'll see some great games from the Masters.
