Sorry, I don't play e6 in the sicilian, I play the Dragon.

Much more simple. You just have to out-calculate your opponent. Who cares about complex strategies? Mate is everything!

I play the English, which is the Sicilian Reversed.  No, better yet:  the Sicilian Attack!

This forum is not to talk about different opening systems for black, it is for the people who play this opening line.

What about people who play AGAINST this opening line? Can THEY post here?

Are you familiar with the Na4 idea played in my game above? It has some sting if Black is not prepared for it.

Just try playing the Sicilian Caro-Kann!  Now that's a challenge.

It would be a very helpful Forum post if we discussed actual theory on the Sicilian Kan -

1.Lines

2.Explanation of typical structures and their strategic nuances.

3.Typical tactical tools to watch or in this opening.

4.High quality games, slow time control games.

5.Games which demonstrate how you can gain an edge or equal play if the opponent deviates from what the position or the opening demands.

Blitz games are trash.  They are a full of mistakes always.  It is entertaining but they do nothing for discussion of theory and shared learning of how to handle these lines.

In Blueemu's game isn't b5 the natural response to Na4? Seems to just give Black an easy game...

The Kan is an excellent choice for black. Have been playing OTB league games for a couple of years. When white plays open sicilian, I've won 8, drawn 8 and lost 3. I found Andrew Martin's DVD very useful.

White can't really play the Bb5 lines like against Nc6,d6 systems, which IMHO are the best Anti Sicilan lines.

As white I've looked at early b3 lines and the deferred wing gambit. I would be interested in a good line as black against the latter ! :-)

You can try 1c4 and if e5 play 2e3 and go for a "reversed" Kan

9Na4 is very well known. Amazed that apparantly a FM played the weak response Nxe4. In the 70's 9...0.0 was the most popular response, with some well-known games of Karpov on the black side. Nowdays 9...Be7 is more popular, for the theory can see Delchev's book "Safest Sicilian", for example.
