i just wanna talk about the sicilian.  why do u think it's good why do u think it's bad what do u think is more favorable for black.  if u think this is the best for black what do u thinkwhite should do.  after Nc6 d4 or nc3 or whatever u think white should do.

that is a HUGE question. that's like: i want to talk about european politics from the renaissance to present day :)

the sicilian is good for one reason: you exchange your c pawn for the d pawn. this creates huge imbalances that are present for the res of the game. notably - fight for d5, half-open c file vs. half-open d file, and white's difficulty controlling e5.

well the thing about the sicilian that i don't like is that it blocks the bishop i prefer the karo-kan defense.  and white doesn't have to trade the d pawn for the c pawn.  but i do love the sicilian though.

and if u play the scotch game white gets more central control for the sacrifice of his d pawn.

the sicilian is interesting.  I like to play accelerated dragon-siclilian myself but can anyone suggest a system that is at least equally good for black that doesn't result in soooo much theory to learn?  I guess maybe the sicilian four knights is less theory but it seems to easy for white to get an edge..

Dragon is very nice and subtle.

But Accelerated Dragon is one of the strongest openings out there.

this is why i like accelerated dragon.  black is at least ok. I need a book about acclerated dragon that explains general stratigic and tactical ideas-maybe with some annotated games..NOT a theory book (i have one of those), does anyone know of such a book?

I think one reason that the Sicilian is popular is that black gets to pick the opening.  With PK4-PK4, black lets white choose the opening.

I play sicilian najdorf the sicilian is just blacks best option against e4 and also has lot of attacking options for both side

I question that as well.

I play the hybrid Dragondorf and like it for the flexibility.

I find the hyper accelerated dragon is just revealing your hand too early or unenjoyable to deal with an early onslaught.

I think if you want to play najdorf just play why r u playing dragdorf

I like both the dragon and the najdorf but najdorf is alway very very popular at elite lvl that's why I decided to learn najdorf

Why would you play Najdorf?

Avatar of I_PLAYLIKE_CARUANA

I think I already statwd the reason but for your akae I would say it once again that it is evergreen popular opening at elite lvl like queens gambit, ruy lopez and Italian

And yes I want to be elite player too so I just wanted to learn an opening which would help me all the way from beginner to elite and even at the elite lvl

Because I don't prefer learning a little dubious opening and then learning a better opening after being elite ,

I like to learn the best in the category from the smaller lvl and at small lvl you can focus a little less on theory and as elite you can go deep

And you will be improved  in certain openings as much as you play it so why not start now

Yes but you are not an elite player.

Yeah but i a kean chess learner and i wanted to learn the best response against e4 that is played much at the highest lvl and i found najdorf and i started learning it so that it could help me all the way to elite lvl as I am preparing to go  for that

And anyway I would be an elite player after 10 years of my life at the age of 26

Avatar of Romans_5_8_and_8_5

What makes you so certain you will be an elite player after 10 years?

I am certain that nothing can stop me from reaching my goal

Sometimes g6 is the best move in a given position and I always get a good laugh when the is queen is misplaced after the bishop swap and I didn’t castle. Throws the white player off and outs him in new territory away from mainline theory or engine prep.

Some us do not study theory or rely on engines like you and furthermore don’t care what GMs plays or is irrelevant for our skill level where 1.0 is insignificant.
