Wow! That unrated game idea actually sounds really cool. I'm sorry though, I've no knowledge on the wing gambit.
Sicilian...wing gambit

I tried playing the wing gambit for a little while but was discouraged by
1. e4 c5 2. b4 cxb4 3. d4 d5 4. exd5 Nf6 where I felt like my positon was kind of bleh.
Of course there are other 3rd moves for white so who knows.

playing the sicilian from both sides of the board, my opinion is the Wing is far worse than the Morra.

As a side note, Wikipedia states that the Wing Gambit "is not generally considered one of White's better choices against the Sicilian, and is virtually never seen at the professional level". At this level though, you might experiment with it against weaker opponents just for the heck of it.
As a warning, here's a game where someone tried the Wing gambit against me and found himself in a bad position:
Hello fellow chess players.
I am very interested in the wing gambit line of the Sicilian (1e4 c5 2b4...) and would like to study it more. I have played it once during online play and was victorious, alas it was due to missed calculation from my superior opponent. I can't find very much information on this particular line. This is where you, my fellow chess players, come in. I am looking for five to ten unrated games where strategy and tactics are discussed in the message board of the game. I would prefer to play white, but am willing to play the black side as well. If you are willing to help a comrade out please send an unrated challange to me with a time limit of at least three days, as anything less may cause me to lose on time and who learns anything from that other than move faster? thanks for viewing my request and considering it.
Dan
