most big opening books like MCO or the 3 volume types like Chess Opening Essentials has a good introduction to the moves and what their deal is, in addition to all the other openings they introduce you to.  There is also  Starting_Out: The Sicilian by John Emms, but I can't speak for that book as I've not seen it.
