I think this ends up in a pretty standard Caro Kan variation but the move order getting there is sloppy. Sometimes players (especially in a not super formal club match which this apparently was) will blitz out the opening and fill it in on the scoresheets later. I'm guessing 3...Bf5 was a scoresheet error. That's not a move a nearly 2600 GM makes! LOL.
