Yeah - Thats a strange position, Nc3 isnt a common move, more common is c4 or Nf3, but in that position Blacks actually dead equal, something that black aims for in the opening after d5. Anyways, Best of luck !
Symmetrical 1. d4 d5 Opening?

Should have played Queen's Gambit...the odd things is why push the pawn to block the bishops (e6,e3)

3.Nc3 is the Veresov Opening an anti-positional game where White hopes his active piece play will make up for his positional disadvantage. Really a Chigorin Defense in reverse. I would take up the challenge as Black and play 3...c5, when White has to get something going quickly or Black will positionally suffocate him.
Playing a practice game OTB today for my tourney tommorow, I noticed a very odd looking position that seemed strange to me, and I'd like some input on this. I was black. It wasn't an annotated game, but the position ended up like this:
Though I'm not expecting to play this opening as white, and doubt my opponents will play it this weekend, this position just seems very curious...Anyway, the preparation went well, and I'm ready to either win, lose, or draw my games.
Wish me luck! If any of you are going to the 61st New Hampshire Open, I'll see you there! Just look for the kid in a hopelessly lost position while drowning everything out with his iPod (They are allowed, right?)
