Tango player wants to defend the English

So, against d4 I play the Tango (d4 Nf6 c4 Nc6) and I'm trying to figure out which lines vs the English are most likely to transpose back into something I'm shooting for from the Tango.  One of the recommendations in Palliser's Tango book is to head for the English Four Knights' when you end up close to it, but I'm not sure how likely it is to reach that, or the proper move order, when facing a true Enlish player.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

I play the Tango once in awhile.  Here is one of my games played here.  Watch his Queen make a circle around the board.  Must be the Queen's Tango.

Thanks Bill, but I'm really trying to understand what my approach should be specifically to the English, given that I'm a tango and e5 player vs d4 and e4 respectively.  I'm looking for something with some synergy, if there is such a thing.

I would probably try to aim for a KID instead of the Tango through an English move order.

This is why I like the Dutch - it works against both 1. c4 and 1. d4, and pretty much anything else besides 1. e4 or 1. g4.

Well, I played the Modern for a while, which can be played vs anything, period, but it didn't go to well for me...I need a better positional understanding than I have.  Someday I'd like to try it again though...
