To get back to the Grob, I personally agree with Mazetoskylo that playing the Grob as a gambit of the g4 Pawn doesn't seem to have a great deal of promise. For balance, that's not the only way to play it. Basman favoured 1. g4, d5; 2. h3 with the idea of playing an extended fianchetto. I don't intend to get into a theoretical debate here though. It's not a system I turn out to find all that intuitive.
