The Gruenfeld system in the English opening isn't very popular, is it a good defence for black against english players? 1. c4 Nf3 2. Nc3 d5 3. cxd5 Nxd5

Still popular at high level...

Maybe you think it is not so popular because Grunfeld is not very popular at club level, thus the same for this line.

But indeed, it is more popular with c5 first then d5.

I mean : 1.c4 c5 2.Nf3 Nf6 3.Nc3 d5 for example.
